I first saw Oharah at SoHo Social during my junior year of college. I thought to myself that is the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. I looked at my friends and said, “I need to go talk to her.” I never did, I completely chickened out.

Later, I found out her name was Oharah and that she was a freshman at Samford. I told myself I’d wait a little while before asking her out. Unfortunately, I waited too long, and she ended up getting a boyfriend. I figured I had missed my chance.

Fast forward some time, I had just graduated college and I couldn’t get the thought of Oharah out of my mind. I was having dinner with my sister and I casually tried to steer the conversation towards the topic of Oharah. I knew it was random but I had to see. When I found out she was single, I knew I couldn’t let the opportunity pass me by again. I asked her to go to dinner and the rest is history.

I’ll admit, I was a little nervous for the first date. I expected her to be shy, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. She turned out to be the most outgoing, fun, kind, and genuine person I’d ever met.

Since then, we’ve made countless amazing memories together, and now I get to spend forever with my best friend. Looking back, it’s amazing to think that it all started from seeing her from across a restaurant. The Lord has blessed me beyond what I thought possible. I can’t wait to see what He has in store for our next chapter together.
